"Bouquet" Card by Katrina Thompson

#artdecocreations   #couturecreationsaus    #ultimatecrafts

Hi everyone. Today I am sharing with you all the first of my projects using the stunning new range, 'Bohemian Bouquet' designed by Denise Boddey. I love the colour variations and design elements of this new collection and have a number of additional projects underway to bring to you soon.
With this project I have concentrated on using the 6x6 paper pad as well as incorporating the chipboard and dies. Although there are lots of little details and 3d foam, the depth is still minimal, easily slipping into an envelope.

Cut the small doily from the Bohemian Doily Set in 'Jungle'-Green cardstock and have dabbed it in a white ink.
Dab the Bouquet Doily Chipboard piece in a red ink, leaving it patchy.

Cut the Lady in Red and the 'Live' word from your 6x6 paper pad.

Cut the 6x6 patterned paper as pictured including the extended flower images from the bottom edge of the paper and the flower petals at the top. Cut out the red flower separately.

Layer the cardstock doily onto the chipboard doily. Centre the circular image from the lady print. Add the Live and the red flower using 3d foam.

Cut a strip from the 6x6 pattern as pictured and ink the edges in a green ink.

Over lap the two halves of the 6x6 that were cut earlier and edge them in red ink. Distress the edges of the green strip and attach the as pictured.

Using the decorative dies, cut a Curling Florette and a Curling Floral from the Jungle cardstock. Cut the Curling Floral into two pieces as pictured.

Ink the tips of the die cuts in a red ink.

Create a card base from the Carnelian cardstock 17.5cm high x 25cm long. Score in half and ink the edges in white. Cut a Snow White mat, 16cm high x 11.8cm wide and cut and distress a Jungle mat, 15.7cm high 11.3cm wide. Layer the three to form the base.

Cut the three floral sections from the 6x6 patterned paper as pictured.

Attach the patterned piece to the card base and begin to arrange the die pieces and floral cut outs.

Attach the Curling Florette and the bottom half of the Curling Floral as pictured. Tuck in and attach the floral cut outs with 3d foam and embellish with Adhesive Pearls.

Attach the top piece of the Curling Floral die cut under the 'Live' panel as pictured and embellish with the Adhesive pearls. Attach the floral cutout on top of the Live with 3d foam.

Thankyou so much for looking, happy creating!!

"A Time to Remember" by Julie Schinkel

#artdecocreations   #couturecreationsaus    #ultimatecrafts

Happy Monday crafty friends! It's Julie here on the blog starting the week off with a layout using papers from the soon to be released Bohemian Bouquet Collection from Ultimate Crafts. Today you will also get a sneak peek of the new chipboard range from Couture Creations. Yes, you read that right. Couture Creations will be releasing their very own chipboard range! Who doesn't love chipboard? I know I do and I've included a few pieces on my layout to show how to collections can work together very easily.

To start, I've taken some patterned paper from the Bohemian Bouquet 12x12 paper pad, trimmed off a quarter of an inch from each side and matted onto a piece of Ultimate Crafts 12x12 Cardstock in Garnet.

I had some leftover pieces of the Bohemian Bouquet 6x6 paper pad from the card set that I made (in my previous blog post) and bundled them together to form the photo mat.

I've taken one of pieces of patterned paper and embossed it using the Bohemian Bouquet 5x7 Bohemian Bazaar Embossing Folder. I gently ran a brown ink pad over the paper to highlight the embossed patten.

I've used the Bohemian Bouquet Chipboard Fine Doily Chipboard Set (outer piece only) and Geo Flower Chipboard Border embellishments and heat embossed using Couture Creations Chunky Gold Crystals. As you can see from the photo, the embossing powder was a little hit and miss so I gave it another coat and came out perfect.

At this point I thought I was finished but when we got the go ahead to start using the new chipboard I thought why not add some more? Here I've taken the Couture Creations Time to Remember, Classic Flourish and Victorian Corner pieces and coated each piece twice with Couture Creations Metallic Rose Gold embossing powder. This powder is very fine so you will need at least two coats for a lovely finish.

I then added some of the Couture Creations English Roses along with some flowers, leaves, lace, twine and trim from my stash. The big flower is a discontinued Couture Creations brand, but you could very easily use the Camden Beaded Cottage Flower and colour it using Couture Creations Anna Griffin Pigment Powder, Ultimate Crafts Liquid Drops or ink. To finish, I've added some Couture Creations 2mm Gemstones in Celadon and 2mm Pearls in Deep Red.

Here is my finished layout.

My Aussie Adventure by Guest Designer Cariena Basson

#artdecocreations   #couturecreationsaus    #ultimatecrafts

Hi Everyone, Cariena here and very happy to be asked to Guest Design for Artdeco.

I have been wanting to make a layout of some of the special moments of my Australia trip earlier this year, when I taught at the Couture Creations Creative Inspiration Live Event  presented in Brisbane, February & March 2017.

Almost 200 scrappers from all over Australia attended this Event and I was really, really privileged and blessed to have been asked to teach at the Event.
I used the awesome L'Aquarelle Collection for one of my classes at the Event, and was so excited when the collection was released here in South Africa a short while ago.

I gathered all the items I thought I might use - a few of the L'Aquarelle products - 6 x 6 Paper Pad, butterfly die, metal flowers, seam binding, my Golden Girl (GoCut and Emboss Machine) and my basic tools.

After I printed the photos I wanted to use for the layout in various sizes, I sanded the edges using my Couture Creations Sanding Block - this just makes the photos POP without matting them.

Next I chose a few sheets of paper from the 6 x 6 Paper Pad.  I love using the small papers for fun layouts like this one - the designs are smaller so you get more detail.

I chose the papers I wanted to use to cut my butterflies from. I cut a few solid as well as some detailed butterflies.  I was not sure at this point of how many I was going to use, but I rather cut more than less!

I decided to add some "bling" to the butterflies.  I squeezed some Couture Creations Turbo Glue onto my craft sheet, spritzed it with a little water and mixed in some Anna Griffin glitter.  Then I dabbed this mixture onto the sold and detailed butterfly die cuts.

I though a bow would look beautiful using the L'Aquarelle Seam Binding.  The cream colour was too light for me, so I coloured it using a mixture of Anna Griffin Gold Pigment Powder, water and Turbo Glue.  Why the Turbo Glue?  Well, the pigment powder does not have a binding element, so it will rub off from the seam binding if you don't use a binding element.  This mixture is perfect for colouring many different elements.

As a finishing touch, I fussy cut one of the pretty flowers from the paper pad and then added some metal flowers and embellishments.  I wanted to keep this layout very simple - I will probably add a LONG piece of journaling to it, before it goes into my album.

Thank you so much for visiting the blog. I hope you will have lots of fun just playing with some of your amazing Couture Creations and Ultimate Crafts Products!
